General Terms and Conditions
1. Prices
The prices listed on our website and various communication materials from L’ESS des Marécottes include instruction provided by instructors. They exclude all other services (insurance, ski passes, equipment, etc.).
The ski lift pass is not included in the course price: it must be purchased at the TéléMarécottes ticket office.
2. Payment
Payment is made directly at the time of online booking on our website and upon receiving confirmation of your reservation by email.
Reservations made directly at L’ESS in La Creusaz or at the ski lift ticket office can be paid in cash, by direct debit cards, or via TWINT. We do not accept REKA checks.
3. Reservations
Only group lessons can be booked online. For private lessons, requests must be made by email, directly at the ESS hut, or at the ski lift ticket office (according to displayed schedules). Requests for private lesson reservations via email must be submitted at least 36 hours before the lesson starts.
During peak periods (school holidays, weekends), we advise booking lessons well in advance.
4. General Conditions for Group Lessons
- Students are grouped according to their actual level, assessed through on-slope tests by our instructors.
- Lessons last 2.5 hours, including travel and waiting times at the ski lifts.
- We aim to create classes of 4 to 8 participants whenever possible. However, during peak times, classes may reach up to 10 participants.
- We reserve the right to merge levels if necessary. If the minimum number of participants (4) is not met, alternative solutions (e.g., reduced teaching hours) will be proposed. These changes do not entitle participants to refunds or compensation.
- Group lesson tickets are personal and sequential. They must be presented at the start of the course week to the group lesson coordinators. They cannot be exchanged, postponed to another week, or refunded if the participant withdraws during the ongoing week.
- No refunds will be issued for premature course withdrawal (cold, illness, fatigue).
- In case of illness on the lesson day, the school must be informed by email before 8:00 AM at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
- Group lessons are guaranteed 100% in French.
- For group activities, instructors are not obliged to wait for latecomers.
5. General Conditions for Private Lessons
- Private ski lesson tickets are personal and valid only for the number of participants booked. They must be presented upon request by the instructors and handed over at the start of the lesson.
- No refunds will be issued for premature lesson withdrawal (cold, illness, fatigue).
- For safety reasons, all students must be appropriately equipped for snow sports (gloves, hats, ski jackets, and pants).
- Helmets are mandatory for children and strongly recommended for adults.
- Sliding equipment (ski, snowboard, etc.) must be in good condition and adjusted by a professional.
- L’ESS des Marécottes reserves the right to accept or refuse students not meeting these requirements.
- In private lessons, the instructor will speak the language preferred by the student as far as possible.
6. Schedule
Participants are responsible for arriving on time at meeting points. Parents escorting children must ensure punctuality at the start and end of lessons.
During busy periods, plan your arrival to account for parking, shuttle delays, and lift line waits. Late arrivals will not be given boarding priority for the gondola.
7. Cancellation, Refunds, and Postponements
- If the student cancels the service more than 15 days before the first scheduled session, a full refund will be provided, minus 10% for administrative fees.
- For cancellations made between 15 days and 3 days before the course, the student must pay 30% of the total amount due.
- For cancellations made less than 3 days before the course, the student must pay 100% of the total amount due.
- No refunds will be issued for participants who fail to attend a lesson without notifying the instructor.
- Lessons take place in all weather conditions.
- Ski lesson tickets are non-refundable in cases of weather disruptions (wind, rain, etc.), external factors (illness, shortened stay, accidents, gondola closure), or similar events.
- Postponements are accepted only if requested 3 days before the session start date and subject to instructor availability.
- Lessons canceled by L’ESS des Marécottes for reasons beyond its control will be rescheduled if possible but will not be refunded.
It is recommended to purchase Skicare insurance when buying ski lessons.
Conditions:
